The St Patrick’s Day road names commanding the highest house prices this year

A new analysis of Land Registry data looking at properties to have sold over the last year has revealed which St Patrick’s Day-related roads are seeing the highest house prices.

The latest research from estate agent comparison site, GetAgent.co.uk, has revealed the most valuable St Patrick’s Day-related road name, with homes on it commanding an average of of over £400,000 in the current market.

The research shows that Guinness tops the table, with homes selling on roads such as Guinness Drive in Rochester, commanding an average sold price of £401,000 over the last 12 months.

Harp was the second most valuable St Patrick’s Day road name, with homes selling in the last year on roads with Harp in the name, such as Harp Lane in Telford, commanding an average sold price of £400,000.

Homes on Shamrock-related roads, such as Shamrock Way in the London Borough of Barnet, have commanded the third highest sold price of the St Patrick’s Day road names analysed by GetAgent, coming in at an average of £370,000 over the last 12 months.

Other St Patrick’s Day road names boasting some of the highest sold prices include Green (£285,000), Emerald (£280,000) and St Patrick (£263,000).

But if you’re looking for some St Patrick-inspired property market affordability, the best option is to look for roads with Ireland in the name.

With an average sold price of just £95,000 in the last year, Ireland-related road names are by far the most affordable of the bunch analysed by GetAgent.

The word Irish also boasts a good level of affordability with an average sold price of just £150,000.

Co-founder and CEO of GetAgent.co.uk, Colby Short, commented: “While you may be sinking a few Guinness this weekend, you could be quids in if you live on a road named after the black stuff, as streets with Guinness in the name boast by far the highest average sold price of all the St Patrick’s Day road names we analysed.

"For the Irish who have made the move over here, there’s a surprising variety of road names that they could opt for if they are looking to buy and want to keep a little bit of home with them when they do.”
