Rightmove has published data revealing the trends that shaped the 2025 property market, highlighting the most searched locations and most viewed homes across the UK and internationally.
London, Manchester and Glasgow emerged as the most searched locations in the UK. Bristol and Edinburgh completed the top five. Within the capital, Wimbledon, Fulham and Chiswick attracted the highest buyer interest. Renters focused their searches on Canary Wharf, Clapham and Fulham.
Coastal areas also proved popular. Bournemouth, Eastbourne and Worthing topped the list of most searched seaside locations in 2025. Internationally, Spain, France and Dubai led overseas searches, with Portugal and Italy following closely.
Property features varied between buyers and renters. Buyers prioritised garages, with annexes coming second and gardens third. Renters used the platform's keyword sort tool primarily to find pet-friendly homes, followed by garages and furnished properties.
Conwy, St John's Wood, and Jesmond
Several properties captured exceptional attention this year.
A medieval townhouse in Conwy, Wales, priced at £875,000, generated significant social media interest due to its high-heeled bathtub. The property was listed by Dafydd Hardy.
A palatial mansion in St. John's Wood, London, listed at £49,950,000 by Sotheby's International Realty, attracted widespread views.
In Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, a Georgian estate priced at £20,000,000 offered substantial space in a desirable location. Sanderson Young handled the listing.
