Rightmove has launched a rent review capability within Tenancy Manager, allowing letting agents to create and serve a Section 13 rent increase notice directly from an existing tenancy record.
The update was among the most requested changes from letting agents on the platform. It responds to shifts in workflow requirements following the introduction of the Renters' Rights Act, which altered the process through which landlords can raise rents.
By handling Section 13 notices from the same platform agents use for tenancy progression, the tool aims to reduce duplicated admin and keep tenancy records consolidated. Agents no longer need to move between systems to complete the rent review process.
The launch is the latest addition to Rightmove's Lead to Keys suite, which integrates advertising, enquiry management, referencing, and tenancy progression in a single platform. Other recent updates to the suite include a landlord PEPs and sanctions check, accessible directly from Rightmove Plus, and digital ID verification for Rightmove Referencing, which allows tenant applicants to verify their identity using secure technology.
"The lettings sector is still adjusting to a period of significant change, and we're focused on helping agents adapt with confidence," said Tarah Lourens, chief technology and operations officer at Rightmove.
"Rent review is about making a necessary process more efficient and easier to manage. Through constant improvements to our Lead to Keys suite, we're building towards a more connected renting experience that saves agents time and money, helps them to deliver a great service to landlords, and improves the experience of renting a home for a tenant."
Lead to Keys covers the rental journey from initial property listing through to ongoing tenancy management, with the rent review function extending its scope further into the post-let phase.
