"I believe it is the perfect marriage of all the professional skills and resources required, with an unrivalled and unique property service,"

The combination is estimated to achieve turnover of over £1,000,000 from residential sales, lettings and financial services within the Centro Group.

Centro aims to boost its residential market activity with property ownership and commercial sales, lettings and consultancy and, in particular, residential block management.

All Christies’ staff members will join Centro with the separate Christies brand remaining.

Ray Harwood, chairman of Centro, said: “When we founded Centro nearly 30 years ago, our vision was to get exactly where we are today. We are satisfied the transition will move us on to our realistic short-term turnover of circa £5,000,000, with a strong asset base of three times that figure. Our new and existing clients can rest assured that the availability of board directors at the face of each activity will not change.”

Paul Harwood, founding director of Centro, commented: “Centro has grown over the years and with our previous acquisitions of Prudential Property South-East region and thereby Dixon Hind, we have 200 years of business expertise on our side. That’s a fantastic foundation upon which the newly constituted Centro Group can be built. By applying a contemporary approach and being already Regulated by the RICS we can confidently accept changes in conformity requirements and the marketplace and continue to grow our service.”

Andrew Richardson, Christies estate director and now residential sales director within the Centro Group, added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed five decades of success in the challenging yet ultimately rewarding field of residential property sales and am extremely excited at the prospect of working alongside the Centro team.

“I believe it is the perfect marriage of all the professional skills and resources required, with an unrivalled and unique property service, working together in seamless harmony for the benefit of all our customers.”
