Ice Wang has joined Winkworth to run the Desk, reporting to David King MRICS, International Director at Winkworth.

Winkworth's central London offices have experienced a significant influx of interest from Chinese buyers. Winkworth's Kensington and South Kensington offices, for example, reported a notable rise of 10-15% in Chinese enquiries in the first half of 2012, with buyers typically looking for new-build properties valued at around £1,500,000.

Ice Wang, who is heading up the China Desk, came to the UK in 2001 to study Actuarial Science at Cass Business School. After graduating, Ice worked for a consultancy firm offering a property finding service for expatriates all over the world, before moving to become a property fund data analyst in the City. Her experience as an analyst has provided her with a thorough understanding of the UK residential market.

The China Desk will offer a full service from initial enquiry to purchase and beyond by helping source and negotiate with solicitors, finance providers, and letting and management agents. London is the main focus in Europe for Chinese buyers, and Winkworth's network of 60 offices across the capital is well positioned to provide an unparalleled service both in respect of product and expertise.

David King, MRICS, International Director at Winkworth, comments:

"Winkworth's central London offices have for some time been experiencing growing interest in prime London properties from Chinese buyers, so we are delighted to welcome Ice Wang to spearhead our approach in this market. The Olympic Games have only helped to underline London's attraction as an animated cultural centre and we anticipate that it will remain top of the list for many buyers looking for a rewarding and secure investment."
