The Bristol-built server cabinet has quickly become known as a ‘Server Room in a Box’ within the ICT industry, as it allows for the successful soundproofed deployment of IT within the open office space.

Kell Systems and the Netshelter CX represent a modern UK manufacturing success story that combines economic viability with environmental sustainability.

The Netshelter CX is already being used by businesses all over the World from SMEs and start-ups to large multi-national organisations.

The company recently hit the headlines when Global petrochemical company, Shell, deployed cabinets across two of their International offices, with other existing clients including the likes of Google, Microsoft, The Red Bull Formula 1 team, ABN Amro, AT&T, the BBC, Hewlett Packard, and L’Oreal, to name just a few.

There is even a Kell Server Cabinet in the White House.

Operations look set to increase even further as earlier this year Kell Systems became part of the APC by Schneider Electric family.

This move has cemented Kell’s Global status as a technological innovator in the ICT sector, and provided as Kell Systems Joint Managing Director, David O’Coimin, states:

“the mandate, reach and the power to engage, create and provide solutions on a sophisticated global scale.”

Complete Server Room in a Box Solution

In addition to the sound-proofing benefits of the Netshelter CX, the technology also integrates quiet forced-air cooling to keep computer servers at the optimum temperature without wasting energy through overcooling.

For those lacking the space, time, or resources to build a dedicated server room, the ‘Server Room in a Box’ is perfect.

Additionally, with the move towards virtualisation, the cloud, and with larger organisations increasingly looking to deploy server technology remotely, it can be an extremely cost-effective and efficient way or organising office ICT in the modern office space.

Economic & Environmental Benefits

What makes Kell’s technology so special, and perhaps also provides a clue to its underlying success, is that the cabinets are not only economically but also environmentally sustainable.

In typical usage, Kell’s cabinets reduce server noise by a perceived 90%, CO2 emissions by 97%, floor space by 90%, operating costs by 98%, and capital costs by up to 80%, when compared with a traditional server room.

With so much emphasis in the financial press currently on economic sustainability and just where growth in the UK economy is going to come from, Kell Systems offers one example of a growing UK manufacturing company producing a product that is both economically and environmentally sustainable.

About Kell Systems

Kell’s server cabinets – now a part of the APC by Schneider Electric family - replace the need for a traditional computer room, using quiet forced-air cooling.

This helps solve the fast-growing problem of server cooling, which typically uses as much energy as powering the servers themselves, and means that servers are quiet enough to run in an open office.
