As part of the merger, the NAEA International brand will be subsumed into AIPP, which will retain its identity.  AIPP was established six years ago and, since that time, has established itself as the leading force in the market. The industry body represents property specialists across the globe, including developers, agents and professional service providers.

Sue Ash, Chair of AIPP, said:

"The international property industry needs one strong, dedicated organisation committed to strengthening professional standards and giving the public confidence in buying property overseas. I have no doubt that this amalgamation is a tremendous opportunity for both AIPP and NFoPP. It accelerates our joint aims to develop a global association of like-minded companies, intent on delivering the best for those working in the industry as well as for consumers and investors.  It builds on all that has been achieved by the AIPP in the last six years."

Mark Hayward, acting chief executive of NFoPP, said:

"For some time now, we have represented UK-based international property professionals through NAEA International and other NFoPP brands; however we wanted to bolster our presence in reflection of the growing market strength. We are therefore really pleased to be bringing NAEA International and AIPP under one brand, and in doing so, creating an organisation with a truly global reach, extensive membership base, and complementary standards and procedures."

Members of both the NAEA International and APIP boards will remain until spring 2013, when a smaller board of 12 representatives will be elected by members. Sue Ash, Chair of AIPP, remains in post. Ian Tonge for the NAEA is currently Joint Chair.
