Help spread some Christmas cheer by filling a stocking full of goodies to donate to your local food bank, meaning in addition to the basic food parcel contents those in need will receive the extras that everyone loves at Christmas. Chocolates and sweet treats are a real luxury if people are struggling to manage financially.
Between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK wide network distributed 2.5 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis, a 33% increase on the previous year, 980,000 of these went to children.
You can help extend the spirit of Christmas by filling a Christmas stocking with some sweet treats to make a difference to local families who need much-needed support over the Christmas period, every donation will make a huge difference to those receiving them.
These are the items the food banks are in need of to provide an extra helping hand this festive season:
· Boxes of chocolates
· Selection boxes
· Chocolate oranges
· Tubes of sweets
· Hanging chocolates for the tree
· Christmas crackers
· Chocolate coins
· Christmas cakes & bars
· Christmas biscuits
· Christmas puddings
How can you get involved?
Please collect up what you can in your office, ask your local community and other local businesses to support you, pop into a stocking of any size and donate to your local food bank who will be delighted to receive your support.
