In the last decade Auction House has grown to become the largest residential auctioneer in the UK in terms of lots sold, having held 1,415 auctions across the country, with a success rate of 78%, and raising a total of more than £2.3bn (£2,308m).

Roger Lake, Auction House Founding Director, marked the occasion by saying: “The Auction House story has been one of spectacular achievement. In the last ten years we have grown from having just a single sales room in Norwich to running 40 auction rooms across the UK, and a collective annual turnover in the region of £10 million.

We are now the auctioneer of choice in most parts of the country. Our results show that we have a strong team delivering a top-level service to our sellers and buyers. We’re committed to keeping our title of the UK’s Number 1 Auctioneer and are looking forward to the next ten years.”

The group held its 10th anniversary conference at the Woodland Grange Conference Centre in Leamington Spa earlier this month (Thursday 15 June), which was attended by over 100 member and supplier delegates (see photograph attached). The company also announced that it is refreshing its brand, maintaining red as the dominant colour, but with a cleaner, simpler logo.

Roger added: “Over the last ten years auctions have become increasingly popular and we’ve made our service more accessible and successful for a higher numbers of sellers. During that time, the average selling price at Auction House has risen from £80,000 to £130,000.

Auctions have become a mainstream alternative on the back of our activity and there is now a wide understanding that local properties sell at higher prices to local buyers through nearby auction rooms – a theme we are committed to developing throughout the next decade.”
