"Our creative approach to product development and criteria has transformed Atom bank’s standing in the near prime space, not only resulting in record levels of activity but helping us to become one of the first choice lenders for brokers whose clients aspire to regaining prime status"
- Richard Harrison - Atom bank
Atom bank has introduced a new range of near prime mortgage products, each with a £1,500 arrangement fee. These additions follow several rate cuts across near prime offerings in 2025.
Atom now offers these products for both purchases and remortgages. Borrowers can select from two, three, or five-year fixed terms, with loan-to-value (LTV) options at 75%, 85%, and 90%.
Interest rates start at 5.09% for two-year fixed terms, and 5.24% for three and five-year terms.
The new products complement Atom bank’s existing near prime lineup, which includes options with £900 or no arrangement fees. The lender has actively reduced rates throughout the year, including two cuts in June alone.
Support for borrowers aiming to return to prime status
Borrowers who improve their credit position will automatically be offered a prime rate when their mortgage reaches maturity. This benefit has applied to most of Atom bank’s near prime clients, with 70% qualifying for a prime product at maturity over the last year.
“This new range of products are sure to be welcomed by brokers and their near prime clients," explained Atom bank's head of mortgages, Richard Harrison. "The higher arrangement fee opens up lower interest rate options for customers, particularly those borrowing higher loan amounts. It’s another example of how Atom bank is determined to provide greater choice to those who may have experienced a temporary credit blip in the past but want to raise finance for either a property purchase or remortgage.
“Our creative approach to product development and criteria has transformed Atom bank’s standing in the near prime space, not only resulting in record levels of activity but helping us to become one of the first choice lenders for brokers whose clients aspire to regaining prime status.”
