"A competitive rate matters, but so does knowing who is making the decision, what the conditions are and whether the lender can deliver."

Albatross Lending Group has announced the launch of a principal-led deal team structure, following the reveal of its commercial product suite and a reshaping of its refurbishment range.
The lender says the developments mark the next stage of its expansion, with two further finance divisions set to launch in the coming weeks.
Under the new structure, Albatross’ deal team operates across two pods, one led by co-founder Lewis Casserley and the other by co-founder Jordan Fearnley-Brown.
Each team brings together business development managers, deal processors and a designated underwriter, aiming to place the group’s principals alongside the teams assessing and progressing cases.
Albatross says the structure is designed to give brokers earlier access to decision-makers, a clearer understanding of lending appetite and faster, credit-backed conditional offers.
It also sees both founders take a more active role in day-to-day origination following a period focused on developing the group’s infrastructure, funding relationships and team.
Across the updates, Albatross says the focus has been on helping brokers identify suitable cases earlier and approach client conversations with a clearer understanding of how it can structure a facility.
"When Jordan and I started Albatross, brokers dealt directly with the people making the lending decisions,” said Lewis Casserley, co-founder of Albatross Lending Group.
"As we have grown, preserving that access has remained important to us. The new pod structure puts it at the centre of how our deal teams work, with a principal, an underwriter and the team progressing the case working closely together.
"The product launches are part of the same thinking. We want brokers to understand where we can help, bring us a case and have a meaningful conversation about how to make it work. A competitive rate matters, but so does knowing who is making the decision, what the conditions are and whether the lender can deliver."
