Albatross Lending Group has launched eight commercial finance products, significantly expanding a proposition it brought to market less than a year ago.

The new suite, which the lender has branded the Albatross Commercial Suite, covers owner-occupied businesses, commercial investment property, mixed-use assets and third-party security. Facilities across the range run from £50,000 to £8 million, with terms of up to 36 months available on selected products.

The eight products are: Albatross Consolidate, Albatross Stabilise, Albatross Expand, Albatross Scale, Albatross Bespoke, Albatross Yield, Albatross Mixed-Use and Albatross Third Party.

Each product targets a distinct segment of the commercial market:

  • Albatross Consolidate provides commercial debt consolidation for owner-occupier trading businesses, bringing multiple secured or unsecured facilities into a single first-charge structure.
  • Albatross Stabilise is aimed at viable owner-occupier businesses that need time to build trading history before qualifying for mainstream refinancing, with terms available up to 36 months.
  • Albatross Expand supports established owner-occupiers funding growth, whether through equity release from existing premises or acquisition of an additional trading site.
  • Albatross Scale addresses the larger end of the range, offering facilities from £2 million to £8 million for established, profitable owner-occupied businesses.
  • Albatross Bespoke provides individually structured finance for owner-occupied deals that fall outside standard criteria, including unusual circumstances, mixed purposes or complex structures.
  • Albatross Yield is an asset-led bridging product for income-producing commercial investment property.
  • Albatross Mixed-Use provides a dedicated funding route for mixed-use and semi-commercial assets.
  • Albatross Third Party offers cashflow lending to qualifying limited companies where unencumbered residential property can be offered as third-party security.

Albatross says the expansion was shaped directly by broker feedback and the volume and type of cases coming through its team since the commercial proposition launched. The lender has used that pipeline to identify recurring funding requirements and build the new products around them.

"The market's response gave us the confidence to go further," said Lewis Casserley, co-founder and principal at Albatross Lending Group (pictured on the right).

"When we launched into commercial lending last year, the intention was never to stand still. We wanted to get into the market, work closely with brokers and build the proposition around the cases they were actually trying to place.

"The take-up we've seen has been extremely encouraging and has reinforced our belief in the opportunity for Albatross in this market. We've listened to the feedback and used it to go much further. This isn't simply a criteria refresh; we've built eight clearly defined specialist products, each responding to a distinct commercial funding requirement we're seeing through our broker network.

"We've broadened our appetite and created more ways for brokers to place commercial business with Albatross, while keeping the commercial approach to underwriting that has driven the proposition from the outset."

Jordan Fearnley-Brown (pictured left), co-founder and principal at Albatross Lending Group, said: "This expansion isn't just about adding products; it's about giving Albatross the range to say yes to a much wider set of commercial cases, without diluting how we underwrite them. As we scale the business, that's the balance we're most protective of: more capacity, same judgement on every deal.

"As we grow, we're focused on protecting what we believe makes Albatross different. We're obsessed with the customer journey and with giving brokers an experience that feels like a breath of fresh air in the lending market; direct access to decision-makers, clear communication and a team that genuinely takes ownership of getting a deal through.

"That combination is what we're building towards: greater scale and a much broader lending proposition, without losing the customer experience that sits at the heart of Albatross."
