Octane Capital has joined the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) as a lender member, adding a specialist bridging finance lender to the trade body.
Octane Capital offers bridging finance, refurbishment and developer exit finance through the intermediary market. The lender, founded in 2017, has provided more than £2.2bn of finance since inception, and Aldermore Bank acquired it in 2026.
“Octane Capital’s decision to join the BDLA is another sign of the increasing engagement we are seeing from established lenders across the bridging and development finance sector,” said Adam Tyler, chief executive of the BDLA (pictured).
“The market has developed considerably in recent years, and with that growth comes a greater need for lenders to work collectively on the standards, challenges and opportunities that will shape its future. Octane brings considerable experience of the specialist property market to our membership, and we look forward to having Richard and the team involved in those conversations.”
“The specialist lending market has matured significantly, but there’s still plenty of work to do collectively to continue to grow the reputation and understanding of our sector amongst a wider audience,” noted Richard Deacon, managing director (sales) at Octane Capital.
“Joining the BDLA gives us the chance to play a more active role in that work. By sharing our experience and working alongside other lenders, we can help promote high standards, improve understanding of specialist finance and make sure the sector has a strong, united voice on the issues that matter.”
