Goodlord has integrated with The Deposit Protection Service, making it the first platform to support all three major UK tenancy deposit protection schemes within a single workflow.

Goodlord has become the first lettings platform to integrate with all three major UK tenancy deposit protection schemes, following the launch of a new API connection with The Deposit Protection Service (The DPS).

The integration joins existing connections with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and mydeposits, giving letting agents the flexibility to use their preferred government-authorised scheme without leaving the Goodlord platform. Agents can now register and manage deposits across all three providers within a single, connected workflow, removing the need to switch between systems or introduce manual processes.

The DPS offers both custodial and insured deposit protection and is one of the UK's largest government-authorised providers. Through the new API, agents using Goodlord's Complete Tenancy Management product can handle deposit registration and tenancy progression in one place.

"Agents are under increasing pressure to balance compliance with efficiency," said Tom Goodman, managing director at Goodlord (pictured).

"The API with The DPS removes a key point of friction in the lettings process. For the first time, agents can manage tenancy progression and deposit protection across all three major schemes within a single platform.

"It's a significant step towards a more streamlined, fully connected workflow and reflects our commitment to giving agents, landlords and tenants everything they need to rent better, in one place."

Matt Trevett, managing director at The DPS, welcomed the partnership. "We are delighted by this API partnership with Goodlord, which will reduce administrative tasks for letting agents," he said.

"The DPS is constantly looking at ways to improve the digital journey for all of our customers throughout the tenancy lifecycle. This is another step in our continuous commitment to sourcing and providing technology solutions."

The launch addresses a pressure point that Goodlord's own research has repeatedly highlighted. According to a recent report, 76% of agents say admin is limiting their day-to-day effectiveness, with compliance and administrative burdens accounting for a fifth of the bottlenecks slowing productivity and growth across the sector.
