The Rightmove app is designed to take advantage of the iPad’s large screen for displaying property information and images, as well as its intuitive usability to provide an innovative property search experience for home-hunters. All available properties on the Rightmove site will be fully searchable using the app.
Miles Shipside, commercial director of Rightmove, comments:
“We saw in the iPad an opportunity to bring a new dimension to the way home-hunters search for properties with Rightmove. The interface of our app has been designed to be as intuitive as possible for the search process, with property listings that take advantage of the larger screen to display every property in its best light.”
Rightmove’s iPad app follows on from the success of the company’s award-winning iPhone app which has had over 650,000 downloads to date and has been the most popular property-related app for the iPhone by some distance.
Shipside adds:
“The success of our iPhone app showed how people are prepared to embrace the latest consumer technology as part of their lifestyle, including their search for new homes. We are happy to extend the reach of Rightmove as a service to new platforms wherever our users want to use it.”
Using the Rightmove iPad app, users can locate available properties around them using GPS and refine their search using detailed criteria. Properties can then be browsed through with the option of bringing up a gallery slideshow or more detailed property information including larger images and the option to contact an agent directly using the iPad device.
Further updates are planned to extend the number of features even further including the option to allow users to sync their saved Rightmove searches.
The Rightmove iPad app can be downloaded for free from Friday 28th May at the Apple iPad app store, and from the main Rightmove website here
