Yorkshire BS announces new FTB fix

Yorkshire Building Society has announced today that it has launched a two-year fixed rate of 2.38% for borrowers with a 10% deposit.

The mortgage, which has a £1,345 fee, has been launched as part of a range of rate reductions, which includes a two-year fixed rate mortgage at 3.09%, which has no product fee, free valuation and £250 cashback on completion and is also available to customers with a 90% loan-to-value.

Also on offer for those with a 10% deposit is a 2.49% two-year fixed rate mortgage, with an £845 product fee.

Brendan Gilligan, Mortgages Manager for Yorkshire Building Society, said: “As a financially sustainable mutual with no external shareholders, we know how important it is to help first-time buyers to get onto the housing ladder. These new fixed-rate mortgages are designed to help people with low deposits buy the home of their dreams, with the added security of knowing what their monthly repayments will be for the next 24 months.”
