Landlord Action founder invites landlords to invest in new venture

Paul Shamplina is known as the man behind Landlord Action, one of the most recognised brands in the property sector. One of Paul's co-founders was brand communications expert, Michael Kaplan. Now, still with Landlord Action, Michael is launching the UK's first one-stop assistance service and offering landlords the opportunity to be involved as investors.

0800z (pronounced 'oh eight hundred zed') is a rescue service for every part of life: boiler failure, car breakdown, lost luggage, frustrating technology and anything that could be considered an unexpected problem.

Michael explains, "Like Landlord Action, 0800z is an assistance service. Only not just for landlords."

In the UK there are over one hundred million separate assistance type policies sold every year. As sales of separate assistance policies are very high, Michael expects 0800z, the UK's first 'one-stop assistance service', to be an industry game-changer, just like Landlord Action was.

The minimum investment is just £1,000, unlike most start-up opportunities with high returns, which are only open to private equity companies and high net-worth individuals. But 0800z Royalty Lending is open to everybody, although just the first 1,500 people will be allowed to take part. "I know landlords will be interested" says Michael, "They're always on the lookout for a decent return."

Michael is still a director of Landlord Action but is not involved much in the day-to-day.

He explains, "Of the three national brands I've created, Landlord Action is the only one that hasn't been sold and is still my favourite. Paul and the team are fantastic and that allows me to shift my focus to 0800z for now. I expect it will be just as successful - only for a much wider market."
