When using homesharing platforms and booking directly through homestay management companies can lead to greater employee experience and fewer costs for their employer, one has to ask: why is this the case?

Airbnb is becoming more and more attractive to business travellers for a number of reasons. The first is that it offers them a huge variety of choice, in terms of price, location and quality.  Hotels tend to be more expensive and harder to book, especially during peak times of the year. Airbnb offers business travellers a lot more freedom of choice. Often, employees attend events that take place in exhibition centres outside of the city centre. Airbnb offers you the choice of locations near where you need to be. The range of properties that are available is something that is hugely attractive to business travellers.

Many business travellers that we see are initially apprehensive about booking an Airbnb because they are worried about the varying standards in quality.

However, by booking through an Airbnb management company you can ensure a high standard of stay for your employees, both in terms of the home you stay in and the service that you receive. Homestay management companies often also offer a car service, picking up business travellers from an airport or train station and takings them straight to their accommodation. The level of ease, especially after a long journey, is another reason business travellers are looking to use homestays.

These platforms also give business travellers greater flexibility around what they do with their time. Being able to have ample space to both work and relax is a great pull for many business travellers. This especially true if they find themselves staying in a location for a week or more, where business travellers are wanting to stay in places that are more like homes than hotel rooms. By being able to

One of the most common myths about Airbnbs and homestays is that it is for young travellers. This is often because the price point of Airbnbs tend to be lower, subsequently making people think the quality is lower as well. Over recent years, the quality of homestays has increased, as people realise that they can make more money by offering a great service. Trends are moving towards boutique apartments and high levels of service. The growth of homestay management companies is testament to this. Companies such as Hostmaker offer design services and concierge services to make the process for the business traveller as stress free as possible.

Another positive impact that homestay management companies have brought to the homestay business travel experience, is helping to bridge the gap of trust. Trust is a vital component to the sharing economy company and by being a trustworthy third party that has checked the property over and ensured that it is to a high standard, these companies offer business travellers the reassurance that their homestay is of high quality.

Faced with all of these factors, it is hard to deny that more employers should be offering Airbnb in their travel policies. Not only do they offer comparable services to hotels in the longer term, the offer greater flexibility and in many cases, a better working and relaxing environment for the employee.
