Some amazingly unique fundraising has been going on at Townends Estate Agents, part of the Badger Holdings Group, all in order to raise money for the company’s chosen charity, Shooting Star Chase.

On Wednesday 12th November, staff sponsored Caroline Kavanagh, Lettings Managing Director, to dress up in a very large, and very yellow, big bird costume for her entire working day at the Group’s Head Office.

Caroline’s efforts alone raised £453.89 for Shooting Star Chase, a local leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

Commenting on her new wardrobe attire, Caroline says: “We are always thinking of new and fun ways of fundraising for Shooting Star Chase, our designated charity, and this is just one example of our recent activities. My big bird outfit proved to be a great idea, one that was very well received by staff, although it was slightly uncomfortable and roasting hot in there! I did also have to attend the Head Office monthly update meeting in character which was great fun.”

Townends has supported Shooting Star Chase for over 10 years with staff throughout the company regularly participating in fundraising events, large and small, throughout each year to help raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause.

Other activities this year have included an abseil down Broadgate Tower, a skyscraper in London, as well as a fire walk for one individual, and a charity football match.
