The three October auctions, at the iPro Stadium in Derby, Nottingham Racecourse and King Power Stadium in Leicester, takes Graham Penny Auctions’ total sales for 2014 so far to more than £55.7m, more than any other auction house in the Midlands.

Andrew Parker, director at Graham Penny Auctions, commented: “Our three October auctions have been hugely successful for us and have significantly boosted our overall sales figures for the year. At all three auctions our buyers were queuing up to register and bid, the Homes under the Hammer TV crew was in attendance in Derby and Nottingham and we even had a buyer fly in from Dubai to bid!

We’re extremely proud to be the number one property auction house in the Midlands and the sales we’ve achieved for our vendor clients this month show just why we have held this title for the past two years.”

Many of the lots selling well this month were excellent refurbishment properties which caught the eye of developers, some had existing tenancy agreements ideal for landlords and others with commercial elements were popular with investors and business owners.

Andrew added: “We’re already looking ahead and feeling positive about 2015. We will shortly be unveiling the dates for our 21 auctions next year and we’re also launching a new agent partnership programme which we’ve been developing over the past few months which will formalise the fantastic relationships with have with residential and commercial sales and lettings agents across the region.”
