Wayne Treveil, Founder and CEO of Tenants Plus, says: “Currently, referencing and credit checks are carried out after the prospective tenant has viewed a property and an offer has been accepted. At this point the tenant has paid a holding deposit or down payment to secure the property as well as administrative and referencing fees that are generally non-refundable. If the tenant then fails the referencing, there are significant delays and cost implications for the tenant and also the letting agent and landlord.

Tenants Plus aims to get tenants ready before they undertake property viewings which will speed up the whole process and protect the tenant’s initial holding deposit or down payment confirms Wayne. The service also matches tenants with available and suitable properties to rent.

Referencing will be at significantly lower cost as letting agents who subscribe to use our service agree not to charge any further referencing or administration costs to the tenant. This represents a significant saving to the tenant in the lettings process.”
