The development finance lender aims to tackle this problem in part by announcing it has agreed a partnership with the National Federation of Builders. The NFB is the construction industry’s longest established trade association and has grown in stature since its origins in the late 19th century.

Representing companies involved in the building industry throughout England and Wales, the federation provides valuable resources, helping its members to focus on their primary business of construction. Under the new arrangement, Regentsmead will now be their lender of choice.

The federation has around 1000 members, from sole traders through to general contractors. The member companies range in size from smaller companies, turning over under £500,000, to larger organisations whose turnovers exceed £500m.

NFB chief executive Richard Beresford said: “The NFB is delighted to partner with Regentsmead to address the need for investment in SME construction companies and looks forward to sharing the success that this connection will cultivate”.

Regentsmead is an established provider of alternative funding to builders and developers. Over their 80 year history they have founded thousands of new builds, conversions and refurbishments. The new partnership was brought about partly by the Regentsmead team’s continued desire to innovate and find new ways to reach developers desperate for much needed funding.

Regentsmead chief executive James Bloom commented: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with the NFB and hopefully plenty of their members will take full advantage of the Regentsmead offering. They have a superb reputation and it’s great to ally ourselves with a long established and well respected organisation. This hopefully forms another step in our drive to ‘Get Britain Building.”

James continued to note that “We have listened to a lot of our existing clients and the developer community is still reeling from a lack of mainstream funding sources. I have no doubt Regentsmead can plug the gap here for SME builders and developers and continue to help educate the community”.

Regentsmead will be offering regional events, advice and pitfalls for builders in need of assistance of their upcoming projects. NFB members will have access to an exclusive offering of a substantial discount on the initial survey fee.
